Nagra Nagra

Over 70 years of Swiss innovation

Nagra philosophy

Nagra’s philosophy is simple: build instruments of truth. Swiss engineering, low noise and long-term reliability come first, proven in demanding location work and carried into reference home systems. Products are developed without rush, refined by measurement and careful listening, and built with parts and power supplies held to strict tolerances. Each unit is tested, listened to, and supported for years, including legacy models. The goal is not effect, but fidelity and calm authority when the music starts.

Engineered and crafted in

Switzerland

Founded in 1951

Founded in 1951 by Stefan Kudelski in Switzerland, Nagra built its reputation creating precision portable recorders that became the standard for Hollywood studios and field recording professionals worldwide. The brand's legendary tape machines captured everything from Oscar-winning film soundtracks to historical events, establishing an uncompromising legacy of sonic fidelity. Drawing on decades of professional recording expertise, Nagra entered high-end consumer audio in the 1990s, applying the same Swiss engineering philosophy to components designed for the most discerning listeners.
