Børresen C2

At the core of the C-Series performance is the Børresen 5-inch CC Neo bass/midrange driver, meticulously crafted to deliver superior clarity and dynamics.

The Membrane
The membrane consists of three layers, laminated into a single unit: an aramid honeycomb core between two carbon fiber skins. The combination of these materials results in a moving surface with exceptional properties. Carbon fiber layers provide optimum stiffness in many different directions. This unique characteristic reduces vibrations and resonances to incredibly low levels.

The Magnetic Motor System
The C-Series features a sophisticated magnetic motor system with double copper caps on the pole rings. This design, adapted from higher-end Børresen drivers, minimizes electromagnetic resonance and lowers inductance, easing the load on the amplifier.

The C Series is equipped with Børresen’s renowned RP94 ribbon tweeter, a signature feature of the Børresen brand. With a remarkable efficiency of 94 dB and an ultra-light moving mass of just 0.01 grams, this closed ribbon tweeter is capable of incredible speed and responsiveness. Operating from 2.5 kHz and above, it captures the finest sonic details with precision and is robust enough to handle high transient peaks without distortion. This level of detail and clarity allows listeners to experience music with a level of subtlety and refinement rarely achieved.

The Børresen C2 and C3 loudspeakers is based on serial crossover networks, which provide the same phase-locked electric current flow to transducers in the filtering region. Although this crossover topology is significantly more difficult to implement, by diverting the out-of-band currents it creates a much more coherent filtering system.

Designed with bi-wiring with the option of bi-amping
Bi-wiring terminal on the rear support the ability to work with two independent amplifiers. This enables each section (bass and midrange/treble) to receive sufficient power, enhancing precision, clarity, and spatial depth. The speakers can be controlled, and room optimized very precisely with the Aavik active crossover found in a variety of Aavik amplifiers.

The principle is to have two coils that are wounded in each direction / a coil and a counter coil. In Ansuz words: “A double inverted coil” – the two coils are both carrying voltage – and when the Tesla coil encounters a voltage spike a counter spike is activated in order to eliminate the noise. As Noise spikes are pure voltage and carries virtually no charge, the cancelation is quite good, but not 100%. By adding more P-TC coils in parallel the performance increases. By implementing this the perceived blackness in the music improves significantly. Ansuz Tesla coils are available in various types as they complement each other in terms of strengths /weaknesses.

The speaker drivers are wired using Ansuz wiring technology to ensure a high level of electrical conductivity for authenticity in sound reproduction.
