Luxman D-07X SACD/CD Player and USB DAC

Luxman D-07X is a universal disc and digital media player that combines SACD and CD playback with high rate USB DAC capability. It features the LxDTM i transport mechanism for precise disc handling and balanced left and right analog paths from dual ROHM converters. Inputs include USB, coaxial, and optical, and analog output is available on XLR and RCA.

Design and Engineering

LxDTM i transport

The disc mechanism is reinforced and mechanically grounded to a rigid frame for stable rotation and low vibration. The loader and servo are tuned for quiet, accurate operation with hybrid and high density media.

Dual mono conversion

Two ROHM DACs are operated in dual mono with a short, symmetrical analog stage following conversion. A newly developed I V conversion and buffer module preserves linearity and low noise.

Clocking and power

Low phase noise master clocking drives the conversion domain. Power is segmented, with regulation for transport, logic, digital audio, and analog stages to limit crosstalk through the supply rails.

Chassis and layout

A thick aluminum enclosure, internal partitions, and short board to board links reduce microphony and interference. Connector placement shortens runs from transport to conversion and from conversion to outputs.

Connectivity and Control

Digital inputs and disc formats

USB accepts high rate PCM and DSD from computers or network transports. Coaxial and optical support up to 192 kHz sources. The player reads SACD, CD, and MQA CD, and can decode externally supplied MQA over digital inputs.

Analog outputs

Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA provide fixed level outputs. Output muting prevents pops during power and input changes and maintains quiet backgrounds between tracks.

User interface

The display shows disc, input, and lock status clearly. The supplied remote covers transport, input selection, and filter options so changes are easy from the listening position.

Everyday Usability

Disc loading is smooth; input switching is quiet; the unit resumes from standby with prior settings remembered. The player is responsive to commands and stable during long listening sessions.

Placement and Setup Tips

  • Place on a ventilated, level shelf to keep the mechanism stable
  • Use quality USB for high rate playback and keep the run short
  • Route digital and AC cables away from analog interconnects
  • If the DAC downstream prefers a specific format, choose the appropriate USB driver and player settings

Position in the Line

D-07X sits between D-03X and the flagship D-10X. It adds the LxDTM i transport, dual ROHM conversion, and expanded control options that target lower noise and higher precision.

Who It Is For

Listeners who want high accuracy disc replay plus a capable USB DAC in one chassis, with balanced and unbalanced outputs and a transport engineered for hybrid media.
