Luxman D-10X is a SACD/CD player with the LxDTM-i transport, dual ROHM BD34301EKV DACs in dual mono, and a fully balanced ODNF-u analog stage. It plays SACD, CD, and MQA-CD and accepts USB audio up to 768 kHz/32 bit PCM and 22.4 MHz DSD; coaxial and optical inputs support up to 192 kHz. Analog output is 2.4 V on RCA and XLR (1.3 V for SACD/DSD). The Luxman D-10X combines the LxDTM-i mechanism and dual ROHM DACs to offer precise playback and wide format support.

Luxman D-10X Flagship SACD/CD Player and USB DAC

Luxman D-10X is the flagship universal disc player in this family. It combines the LxDTM i transport with dual ROHM BD34301EKV converters, a fully balanced analog stage, and extensive mechanical reinforcement. USB DAC functions support very high rate PCM and DSD, and the unit plays SACD, CD, and MQA CD with authority.

Design and Engineering

Reference transport and frame

The LxDTM i mechanism is mounted to a rigid internal frame with high mass chassis parts to control vibration and keep the laser assembly stable. The loader and servo are tuned for smooth, quiet operation.

Conversion and analog stages

Dual ROHM DACs operate in dual mono with discrete, wide bandwidth analog stages. The layout maintains symmetry and low output impedance so the player can drive long interconnects and a variety of control stages.

Clocking and power

A low noise master clock and segmented regulation for transport, digital audio, logic, and analog blocks reduce jitter and crosstalk. Reservoir capacity is increased to keep rails steady during the most dynamic passages.

Mechanical and EMI control

Thick aluminum panels, internal partitions, and shielding limit radiated and conducted noise. Connector placement shortens routes from transport to DACs and from DACs to outputs.

Connectivity and Control

Digital inputs and disc formats

USB accepts high rate PCM and DSD from computers or network transports. Coaxial and optical inputs support common sources up to 192 kHz. The player reads SACD, CD, and MQA CD and can decode MQA from compatible digital streams.

Analog outputs and filters

Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA provide fixed level outputs. Filter choices are available for tailoring reconstruction characteristics to downstream preferences.

User interface

The front panel display is clear, with transport and input status easy to confirm. The supplied remote mirrors transport and input commands and allows quick access to filter settings.

Everyday Usability

Operation is quiet and predictable. Disc handling is smooth, USB reconnects cleanly after standby, and the unit preserves settings so daily use requires minimal interaction.

Placement and Setup Tips

  • Use a ventilated, level shelf; avoid stacking on heat producing components
  • Keep USB and S PDIF cables away from AC cords and routers
  • For computer sources, install the current USB driver and set the player software for exclusive output to avoid OS resampling
  • If pairing with a control amplifier across the room, prefer balanced XLR for long runs

Position in the Line

D-10X is the reference disc player DAC. It extends the engineering of D-07X with a more robust transport frame, higher capacity power supply, and fully balanced output stages aimed at lowest noise and highest stability.

Who It Is For

Listeners building a reference physical media and computer audio front end in one chassis, with balanced and unbalanced outputs and a transport optimized for hybrid disc formats.
