Luxman NT-07 Network Transport
Luxman NT-07 is a dedicated network transport that feeds an external DAC with clean digital audio. It supports OpenHome UPnP, TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect, and is Roon Ready. USB audio output handles PCM up to 768 kHz at 32 bit and DSD up to 22.5 MHz. Coaxial, optical, and HDMI ARC outputs support up to 192 kHz at 24 bit. Dual front USB ports read local storage, and control is available through compatible apps and the included remote.
Design and Engineering
Platform and clocking
The streaming platform is optimized for low jitter USB output and reliable SPDIF timing. Selectable settings allow format handling that preserves the input sample rate for an external DAC or applies conversion as needed for compatibility.
Power and isolation
A linear supply with an OI core transformer and large reservoir capacitors reduces ripple and noise on the digital rails. Power domains for computation and output are separated to limit crosstalk through the supply and ground.
Chassis and thermal layout
A rigid aluminum chassis with internal partitions routes heat away from digital processors and keeps the output section mechanically stable. Connector placement shortens internal paths from the processor to the output modules.
Connectivity and Control
Network and storage
Gigabit Ethernet provides robust network bandwidth. Two USB host ports accept external drives formatted FAT32, exFAT, or NTFS for local playback without a computer.
Digital outputs
USB 2.0 audio is provided for maximum format support to a DAC. Coaxial and optical outputs serve DACs limited to 192 kHz. HDMI ARC lets a television send audio back through the transport for unified two channel playback.
App and integration
Use OpenHome compatible controller apps for library browsing and queue management. TIDAL Connect and Spotify Connect enable direct casting from their native apps. Roon Ready certification allows the NT 07 to appear as an endpoint inside Roon.
Everyday Usability
Power up is quick and status is clear from the front panel. Remote control covers input selection, transport commands, and display functions. Once network and services are signed in, playback resumes reliably after standby.
System Matching
Pair the NT 07 with a DAC that benefits from high rate USB input or stable SPDIF clocking. Use HDMI ARC when the system doubles as a television audio hub. In reference setups, a high quality Ethernet switch and properly shielded USB cable help maintain a low noise baseline at the DAC.
Placement and Setup Tips
- Use wired Ethernet where possible for reliability and lower latency
- Keep the transport on a ventilated shelf and avoid stacking on hot components
- Dress USB and SPDIF cables to avoid tight parallel runs with AC cords or Wi Fi routers
- For HDMI ARC, enable CEC and ARC in the television menu and set the NT 07 as the audio target
What Distinguishes It in the Lineup
Unlike a DAC or a player with analog stages, the NT 07 focuses on transport duties only. It adds HDMI ARC to the usual USB and SPDIF outputs and supports both local storage playback and network streaming in one chassis.
Who It Is For
Listeners who already own a preferred DAC and want a stable, high capability streaming front end. Systems that need television audio returned to a two channel rig through HDMI ARC also benefit from the NT 07 feature set.
